🚨Tristan James (aka Heavy Lids) does Mikwaukee!🚨 Originally from Australia and now holding it down at Magic Cobra Tattoo in Brooklyn, NY, Tristan James—better known as Heavy Lids—has been carving out a reputation fast. His work shows the kind of conviction and respect for the craft that feels rare and timeless. Pinups, skulls, roses, American traditional, fine line—Tristan brings passion to every tattoo, whether it’s tough, beautiful, or somewhere in between. “I’m not huge on ironic or low-effort tats,” he says. “I like tattoos that are expressive and executed with passion. The process itself is inspiring—taking an idea and turning it into a nice tat, and then making that process better each time.” That approach has already taken him across the country and opened doors he never thought possible. This October, Tristan links up with the Tattoo Punks crew at the Villain Arts Milwaukee Tattoo Arts Fest, October 3–5.
