today i celebrate two years sober. i know that to an addict in active addiction it can feel cheesy to hear someone say sobriety was the best decision of their life, but we say it with our chest because we mean it. it isn't easy, nor does it feel good all of the time. but in a world that constantly advertises a remedy to pain through vices that only provide more harm than hope, it is a very bold thing to choose to feel. thank you to those who have journeyed with me through these two years. the hurt i feel may be intense, but its accompanied by a surplus of love. to those who are struggling, you are always welcome to reach out to me if you are having a hard time navigating the path back to yourself. some people need more than one set of hands to hold all of the grief they have gathered. thank you to all of you for making my life into something i am proud of, grateful for, and happy to move through. it is deeply healing to know the life i have dreamed of is now my normal routine.
